George Roman Auctioneers, Ltd. is a third-generation, family-owned auction company proudly rooted in Canfield, Ohio. The business has grown steadily over the many decades by hands-on experience, adaptability, and a commitment to serving the public with integrity throughout an ever-changing auction marketplace.
George Roman Jr. began his life-long goal of becoming an auctioneer as a side adventure in 1950, and gradually built a business that 75 years later includes the third generation.
In the 1960’s his sons worked beside him learning from the bottom up. In 1971 George Roman III earned his auctioneer license, thus the beginning of the second generation. In 1989 George III and Ron transitioned to the leadership and scope of the business by adding their PA auctioneers license and real estate sales license. Continued growth led to additional facilities, increased staff, and broader regional reach.
In 1998 George’s son, Chris, the third generation, graduated from John Carroll University and joined the family business to continue the family tradition, combining decades of experience with modern auction methods to serve individuals, businesses, courts, and institutions throughout Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
